GREENCASTLE, INDIANA - It's not the way the DePauw Tigers would have liked the weekend to start, but Michelle Chambers and the Sewanee Tigers wanted to spoil the hosts' party.

All DePauw needed was one win to wrap up their third posteason appearance in the last four years, but Chambers tied a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference record with eight three-pointers on the way to a game-high 28 points. Sewanee became the first team to beat DePauw in the Neal Fieldhouse this season with a 74-65 win which also snapped the Tigers' 12-game home win streak.

The DePauw loss trimmed their lead over Centre and Sewanee to one game heading into Saturday's regular season finale with Centre. A DePauw victory over Centre on Saturday evening gives DePauw the outright SCAC title and the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Championship. If Centre wins, then the teams finish in a tie, but Sewanee wins the tiebreak and earns the bid. It's that simple.

What wasn't simple for DePauw on Friday evening was figuring out how to stop Chambers. The hosts built a six-point lead in a tight first half before Sewanee went on a 12-0 run to take a 27-21 lead with 6:02 left. Nine of those 12 came on a trio of three-pointers from Chambers. Sewanee led at the break, 37-31.

Sewanee remained in the lead throughout the second half and built a 10-point cushion at 62-52 after a 10-2 streak.

DePauw begin a rally of its own by scoring 10 of the next 11 points to cut the Sewanee lead to 63-62 with just 2:02 remaining. The gap was still one at 65-64 after Katie Imborek hit one a pair of free throws with 1:29 left.

The guests hit nine of 10 free throws in the final 1:16 as DePauw missed three shots and committed one turnover in the final minute of the game.

DePauw turned the ball over just 12 times, but Sewanee hit 11 three-pointers and grabbed 15 offensive rebounds on the way to a 42-32 advantage on the boards.
