CONWAY, ARK. - The women's basketball team regained control of its Southen Collegiate Athletic Conference and postseason destiny with an dramatic 69-68 victory at Hendrix.

The Tigers, ranked in the top 15 in three different Division III polls, improved to 14-4 overall and 9-2 in the SCAC, while Hendrix slipped to 13-5 and 8-3. The win puts the Tigers in sole possession of first place in the SCAC.

The contest came down to the final possession with DePauw leading 69-66 after Sarah MacKay hit one of two free throws with 12 seconds left. Needing a three-pointer to tie, the Warriors got the ball in the hands of Meg Frazier, the conference's second-leading scorer, but couldn't get the tie as she canned a jumper from inside the three-point arc with five-tenths of a second left. The Tigers were able to inbound the ball and end the game with the one-point win.

A strong and fast-paced start lifted the Tigers to an early 21-11 lead just six minutes into the game. The Warriors closed to within four at 24-20 before DePauw scored 10 straight to take a 34-20 lead with 3:36 left in the half. DePauw claimed its biggest lead of the half when Lindsey Rush nailed a three-pointer with eight seconds left to give the Tigers a 41-26 margin heading into the break.

The lead reached 18 points at 46-28 before the hosts began their comeback. DePauw was held scoreless over a four-minute stretch, while Hendrix scored 10 straight to close the gap to 46-38. Mollie Scarbrough scored six of those points.

DePauw led 58-53 after Katie Imborek nailed two free throws with 5:18 left. The Warriors battled back with four straight to close the margin to 58-57 with just under five minutes to play. Lindsey Rush's basket followed by two free throws from Dana Ferguson and a put-back from Meredith Miles pushed the DePauw advantage to 64-57 with 2:01 left.

After going scoreless for 3:46, Hendrix scored 11 points in the final 1:10 with Frazier scoring each one. Her two free throws with 1:10 remaining cut the DePauw lead to 64-59. Miles hit one of two charity tosses to put the Tigers back up by six. Frazier and Miles then swapped two made free throws before Frazier buried a three-pointer with 25 seconds left to make it 67-64 in favor of DePauw.

Rush then stepped to the line and hit one of two to make it a four-point game and Frazier scored again to set up MacKay's free throw that turned out to be the deciding point.

Rush led the Tigers with 21 followed by Miles with 13. Miles and Ferguson each grabbed seven rebounds with all seven of Ferguson's coming on the offensive glass. Frazier paced all scorers with 24. Scarbrough added 15 and Maggie Harrington 12. Jessica Atkinson paced Hendrix with nine rebounds.

DePauw shot just 25 percent in the second half, but hit seven of 14 from three-point range for the game.

The Tigers host Oglethorpe on Friday at 6 p.m.
