UPLAND, IND. - The Tigers played host Taylor University even for 34 minutes of the game, but during the first six minutes they were buried by the Trojans and eventually lost 86-67. The loss snapped the Tigers' four-game win streak and dropped their record to 4-2. The win lifted Taylor's record to 3-8.

Taylor scored the game's first 11 points in the opening 1:50 of the contest before Ann Hall nailed a three-pointer at the 16:52 mark. That lead reached 23-3 with 13:43 left in the half as the Trojans buried three three-pointers during the stretch. The Tigers closed the margin back to 15 as their first four field goals came from three-point range. Taylor entered the halftime with a 46-23 lead and shooting 57.1 percent from the field.

Taylor's Kristi Bosman opened the second half with a three-pointer to take their biggest lead at 49-23. Trailing 51-26, the Tigers went on a 10-0 run to cut the deficit to 51-36, but that was as close as they'd get.

Kelly Morrison led the Tigers with 16 with Ann Hall adding 13. The pair combined for seven of the Tigers' 10 three-pointers on the evening. The Trojans contained Susan Bender, holding her to just one-of-seven shooting from the floor and seven turnovers in 17 minutes. The Tigers shot just 35 percent from the floor, while Taylor hit 50.7 percent. Taylor was led by Sarah Krause with 22, Bosman with 19 and Yen Tran with 17.

The Tigers return to action on Friday at 8 p.m. against Dominican (Ill.) University in the second game of the DePauw Invitational. Eureka and Kalamazoo square off in the opening game. The losers play Saturday at 1 p.m. and the losers at 3 p.m.
