Tracy Menzel assumed the duties of DePauw's head women's swimming and diving coach and aquatics director in June 2020.

 

College Coaching Career

  • Served as ssistant men's and women's swimming coach at Kenyon College for three seasons prior to coming to DePauw
  • In her time on the Kenyon staff, also her alma mater, she helped lead the men's and women's teams to four top-three NCAA Division III finishes and over 100 individual all-America performances. Included in that were two Division III Swimmer of the Year honorees, three individual national champions and two national champion relays.
  • Was an assistant women's swimming coach at Rutgers University for three seasons where the team recorded over 125 NCAA "B" cuts, broke over 20 program records with seven swimmers qualifying for the U.S. Open.

As a student-athlete

  • A Greencastle native, Menzel is a 2009 Kenyon graduate and earned a Bachelor of Arts with distinction in women's and gender studies and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
  • While a swimmer with the Ladies, she won two NCAA Division III titles in the 100-yard breaststroke and another as a member of the 200 medley relay.
  • She contributed to three NCAA team titles and earned 16 all-America citations while also being an NCAA Woman of the Year finalist.
  • Upon graduation, she served as a ninth grade teacher for three years at McAllen (Texas) High School as part of the Teach for America program.
  • She then earned a Master of Arts in cultural studies of sport in education from University of California, Berkeley in 2014. While at UC Berkeley, she was a graduate manager for the Bears' women's swimming program and also served as an academic coach in the Athletic Study Center.
