Jillian Howley is the interim women's lacrosse head coach after serving as assistant coach during the 2018 season.
Howley came from the University of Indianapolis where she was the program's first head coach in 2014. In her two years, she tallied a 19-17 record, going 6-12 her first season to 13-5 in 2017. LaxPower named the Greyhounds the Most Improved DII Team after a .389 winning percentage jump.
The Greyhounds finished third in the conference standings and collected the program's first conference tournament victory. Howley also coached nine all-conference players in her two years.
Prior to UIndy, Howley landed her first head coaching gig in 2011 at Lake Erie College (Painesville, Ohio) where she went 30-23 in three seasons. She led Lake Erie to back-to-back runner-up finishes in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletics Conference regular-season standings, as well as consecutive GLIAC Tournament semifinal appearances.
A four-year starter on the women's lacrosse Division I team at Robert Morris University (Pittsburgh, Pa.), Howley played in all 66 games in her lacrosse career, making 61 starts, and was fifth on the school's all-time scoring list (72 goals, 89 points).
Howley also was a four-year letter winner in field hockey at Robert Morris. She was a freshman during the Colonials' second year in the sport and helped the team post a winning record by her senior year, in which she received the team's Colonial Award and was a team captain.
She has been an assistant coach at Robert Morris, Mercyhurst University (Erie, Pa.) and Bloomsburg University (Bloomsburg, Pa.).
Howley is a native of Long Island, N.Y. She earned a Bachelor of Science in sport management from Robert Morris University and a Master of Business Administration from Lake Erie College.
Howley is married to UIndy men’s lacrosse coach Greg Stocks.
