Clay Mannering joined the DePauw University football coaching staff in April of 2013.

Career Highlights

  • Prior to DePauw Mannering served two seasons as a graduate assistant coach at Carthage College (Wis.)
    • Coached wide receivers, was responsible for offensive film breakdown, and served as the team's academic tutor
  • Interned with the Ball State University football program in the summer of 2010
  • Taught English at Goshen High School during the spring of 2011

Academic and Athletic Highlights

  • Earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in both English and Spanish from Hanover College
  • Earned a Master of Education degree from Carthage College
  • Three-year starting linebacker for the Hanover College Panthers
  • Served as a captain for two seasons
  • Named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference's Mental Attitude Award recipient in 2009
  • Earned the team's mental attitude and most improved defensive player honors in 2008
