Monon Bell Gameday Information

DePauw and Wabash have met on the football field since 1890 and have competed for possession of the Monon Bell since 1932. As DePauw prepares to host the 128th Monon Bell Classic, we are making every effort to maintain a safe, fun, and family-friendly environment for all of our visitors and local community members. We ask that you take time to familiarize yourself with this game's policies and procedures:

TICKETS
  • $35 general admission.  Each ticketed fan entering Blackstock Stadium will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, bag of chips and water courtesy of Bon Appetit.
  • All game ticket(s) must be purchased online.
  • Game ticket(s) must be PRINTED and surrendered in order to gain entry to the game.
  • Fans who choose to exit the stadium after having their ticket scanned and collected by the Event Staff will NOT be allowed to re-enter Blackstock Stadium.
 

TRAVEL AND PARKING

  • Fans who purchase DePauw game tickets, as well as DePauw faculty, staff, and students who redeem a unique code for a complimentary ticket, will receive an email on Monday, October 17, to purchase parking passes for the Blackstock and Peeler Lots. Pre-paid parking in these lots is only available to individuals who have game tickets.
  • All parking lots open at 8 a.m. There is no overnight parking in Blackstock, Peeler, Olin, Olive St or Julian Parking lots.  Follow the directions of traffic control personnel when it comes to parking/tailgating.
  • Lot Assignments. Beginning at 10:45 a.m., golf cart shuttles will be available for our guests needing additional help getting to and from the Blackstock, Olin and Julian parking lots.
    • Blackstock Parking lot and Peeler Parking lot - DePauw tailgating. Handicap parking is available but limited. Vehicles must fit in a single parking space and vehicles with a trailer attached will not be allowed (RVs, oversizedvehicles, vehicles pulling a trailer are only permitted in the Olive St. Lot). 

    • Olin Parking lot - Wabash tailgating. Handicap parking is available but limited. Enter from Indiana Street. Free.

    • Julian Parking lot - Reserved parking for special guests. Additional handicap parking. Enter from Hanna Street.

    • Olive Street lot - Reserved for DePauw fans who purchase the RV/ticket package. No handicap parking available. Enter from Olive Street from Locust Street. You must purchase a parking/ticket package to park in this lot.

  • City streets adjacent to Blackstock Stadium and the west side of campus will be marked “no parking.” Please look carefully before you park.

  • Parking passes must be PRINTED and shown to the lot attendant before entering Blackstock, Peeler or Olive Street lots.

 

BLACKSTOCK STADIUM

  • Entrances to Blackstock Stadium open at 11 a.m. (120 min. before kick-off)
    • Fans with DePauw tickets must enter through the southwest gate of Blackstock (Hanna circle).
    • Fans with Wabash tickets must enter through the northeast gate of Blackstock (Madison St.).
  • T-shirts, signs, and other items deemed obscene, homophobic, and/or profane will not be allowed in the stadium.  Only hand-held signs will be allowed and may not obstruct the view of other guests during the game. 
  • The following items are PERMITTED in Blackstock Stadium:
    • Single-seat chair backs (can only take up one seat)
    • Binoculars
    • Cell phones and pagers
    • Small cameras
    • Blankets and rain apparel
    • Strollers (must not take up an additional seat)
  • The following items are PROHIBITED in Blackstock Stadium:
    • Bags larger than 18"x14"x4", duffle bags, and bags with rollers. Please be advised that DePauw Security and Event Staff will search all bags and have the right to deny the entry of any sized bag they deem questionable.
    • Containers of any kind including aerosol cans and spray cans,
    • Still photography cameras with a lens that is greater than 6" in length
    • Outside beverages or food of any kind, excluding sealed water bottles and infant/baby food/supplies
    • Coolers, thermoses, cups, bottles, cans, flasks, and kegs
    • Camcorders and tripods
    • Animals (excluding disability assistance animals)
    • Artificial noisemakers
    • Weapons

TAILGATING

  • Please review DePauw Tailgating guidelines at https://www.depauwtigers.com/information/tailgating.
  • For the Monon Bell Classic, alcohol is permitted in Blackstock, Peeler, Olive and Olin parking lots for those individuals of age.  Please remember that alcohol is not allowed on city streets.
  • No hard alcohol and no kegs are allowed on all game days. 
  • No bottles or glass containers are permitted; please use plastic and cans. 
  • All students, parents and guests are expected to pick up after themselves and help us with recycling.  
  • Please follow the directives of DePauw Police, university officials and athletics department game-day staff.
SPORTSMANSHIP
The NCAA, NCAC, DePauw University and Wabash College promote good sportsmanship by student-athletes, coaches and spectators. We request your cooperation by supporting all participants and officials in a positive manner. Profanity, racial or sexist comments, homophobic language or other intimidating actions directed at the student-athletes, coaches, officials, team representatives or other fans will not be tolerated and are grounds from removal from the site of competition. As a reminder, the wearing of clothing or other related items with inappropriate or offensive language could result in denying your admission to the game. Enjoy the game...be loud, be proud, be positive and be nice and be kind.
