Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw opened North Coast Athletic Conference play with a 3-0 (25-15, 25-8, 25-11) win over visiting Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 10-3 overall and 1-0 in the NCAC, while the Yeowomen dropped to 1-9 overall and 0-1 in conference play.
The Tigers never trailed in the match and outhit Oberlin, .284-.015 while holding a 32-16 advantage in kills.
Sophie Chilton paced DePauw with seven kills, while hitting .538.
Julia McWaters totaled 13 assists and, along with
Addison Hooker, led with five aces.
Madeline Ozersky paced the defense with five block assists andÂ
Lacey Pickering had a team-best eight digs.
Brylie Peters led Oberlin with five kills and eight digs, while Emily Spangler had 10 assists. Kira Geiger led the Yeowomen with four total blocks.
DePauw led in aces, 13-1, while holing a 35-29 advantage in digs and 6-4 edge in total team blocks.
The Tigers travel to John Carroll on Saturday, Oct. 3, for a 1 p.m. NCAC match.
