St. Louis, Mis. - Junior middle, Julian Bell made the game winning goal for men's soccer against WashU in the 9th minute. This goal gives Bell his third goal of the season with a .556 shots on goal percentage.
Neck-and-neck with the Bears on the scoreboard, the Tigers stifled WashU early in the first half with a goal shot by Bell assisted by junior defender Harrison Engel.
DePauw excelled offensively, despite being edged by WashU 20-7 in shots, 11-4 on goal. Bears drew six corner kicks to the Tigers one. DePauw tallied 16 fouls compared to WashU's five and one yellow card.
Logan Pierce, Braden Murphey, Ian Jackson, and Bell all made one shot on goal. Pierce made two shots overall.
Sam Ortner made 11 saves in goal during his 90-minutes of playing time. WashU's goalie recorded three saves in goal.
5-1 on the season so far, men's soccer will return to action Tuesday in Greencastle to take on Otterbein for a 7:00 p.m. non-conference match up.
