Tigers Sweep Tuesday Matches

Hilton Head Island, S.C. - DePauw improved to 8-5 on the season following a pair of wins including a 6-1 victory over Augustana (Ill.) and a 7-0 win over Lawrence.

In the win over Augustana, the Tigers won all three doubles matches. The first doubles team of Paul Castleman and Will Hutchinson defeated Santiago Diaz and Saman Rezaeyan by a 6-4 score.

The second tandem of Scott Anderson and Thomas Hargreave topped Facundo Feldman and Arturo Asenio Moreno, 6-4, while the third doubles team of Finley Buelte and Viktor Ronnberg were 6-3 winners over Pedro Nunes and Tomas Jimenez.

In singles play, Anderson was a 6-0, 6-4 victor over Saman Rezaeyan at number two with Castleman taking a 6-1, 7-6 (7-2) win over Feldman at the third spot.

At fourth singles, Ronnberg defeated Nunes 7-6 (7-5), 6-1 with Hutchinson winning over Asenio Moreno 6-2, 6-0 at number five. Hargreave topped Jimenez by a 6-4, 6-1 score at the sixth slot.

The Vikings' lone win came at number-one singles as Diaz, who was leading 3-2 in the first set, won when Buelte retired with an injury.

Against Lawrence, DePauw won all three doubles matches with Ronnberg and Wils Warren defeating Benjamin Hoppe and Gabriel Garcia by a 6-2 score at the number-one spot and Jaxcen Hummel and Filippo Fassone topping Owen Horton and Will Phillips, 6-1, at number-two. At third doubles, Castleman and Ikkei Oguma were 6-1 winners over Will Lewis and Jonathan Myszka.

In singles play, Castleman was a 6-0, 6-1 winner over Hoppe at the first spot with Hutchinson topping Garcia 6-4, 6-1 at number two.

Fassone won over Horton at third singles by a 6-0, 6-1 score and Warren defeated Phillips by a 6-3, 6-1 score at the fourth spot.

At fifth singles, Hummel topped Lewis 6-1, 6-0 and Oguma beat Myszka at sixth singles 6-1, 6-1.
