Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw men's soccer fell to John Carroll 5-1 in a second half comeback delivered by the Blue Streaks scoring five in the last 45-minutes in a hard fought match up on Saturday afternoon.
Tigers wasted no time getting on the board with Aditya Yogesh delivering a header from the right corner of the penalty box into the net, assisted by AJ Hockstok who took the corner kick.
Heading into halftime up 1-0, DePauw led in shots 4-3, but trailed in corner kick 4-3, and were even in saves (2) and fouls (5).
The Blue Streaks tied it up 1-1 at 49:58 when senior goalkeeper Sam Ortner made a goal kick that was quickly returned for an unassisted goal.
John Carroll proceeded to tally four more goals in 28-minutes.
Tigers cut the Blue Streaks lead to 5-2 with a free kick delivered by Logan Pierce to Ante Basan for another header into the net.
The Blue Streaks collected one yellow and one red card during the match up.
Ante Basan and Aditya Yogesh both tallied two shots on goal, while Cayden Sumner and Brady Smith each had one shot on goal.
With the loss, DePauw moves to 8-3 overall and 0-2 in conference. The Tigers will return to action on Wednesday on the road against Denison at 4:00 p.m. in Granville, Ohio.
