Hanover, Ind. - DePauw men's soccer went stride-for-stride with Hanover Saturday evening, tying 2-2.
The Tigers struck first claiming the first goal of the game at 5:18 with
AJ Hockstok slicing the ball through the penalty box to
Sebastian Leon who drew out the goalie and charged the scoring box for a clean shot into the bottom left corner of the net, claiming his second goal of the season.
Centre immediately retaliated with a bullet from the left corner of the penalty box into the far right corner of the goal, evening the score 1-1 at 5:24.
DePauw edged Hanover, 4-3 in shots before halftime.
Entering the second half, the Tigers and Panthers fought for control but Hanover eventually scored their second goal of the night by thinning out the defense and narrowing escaping
Sam Ortner's grasp with a ball that barely crossed the goal line.
The Tigers kept fighting, tying the game late at 88:55 when
AJ Hockstok drew a foul to earn a free kick aimed towards the penalty box where
Aiden Heffner launched the ball in the center of the net to tie up the match.
Men's soccer will return to action on Friday, September 19th when they return home to host Centre at 7 p.m.
