Anderson Resigns as Head Softball Coach

Greencastle, Ind. - Sue Anderson, DePauw head softball coach, has announced her resignation effective June 2.

Anderson joined the DePauw staff in December 2024 and directed the Tigers to a 25-15 overall record including a 12-2 record in North Coast Athletic Conference games for a conference co-championship. DePauw went on to win the NCAC Tournament and earn the league's automatic qualification into the NCAA Division III Championship. The Tigers posted a 1-2 record in the NCAA regional before bowing out of the postseason.

"Coaching at the collegiate level was always a dream of mine," Anderson said.

"Despite this being a dream job for me, when our daughter began to face medical challenges, I realized that I couldn't be the coach the team needed and a mother who needed to fight for her daughter.

"If I taught this team anything, I pray that they see family is first and must be a priority over any job. That they see strength and resilience is not only a choice but a decision we make daily for those who are fighting battles that others may never see. That life isn't fair but when you are surrounded with amazing people, the memories will make the hard all worth it."
