Greencastle, Ind. - In voting by the conference's coaches, six DePauw student-athletes were selected to the all-North Coast Athletic Conference softball team.
Riley Heim (Sr., Indianapolis, Ind./Cardinal Ritter),
Katie Mathies (Sr., Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville),
Libby Minobe (So., Fort Wayne, Ind./Homestead) and
Alex Romero-Salas (Paranaque City, Philippines/Calvert Academy) were chosen to the first team, while
Madi Lockridge (Sr., Avon, Ind./Avon) and
Macey Cox (Sr., McCordsville, Ind./Mt. Vernon) earned second team honors.
In the 14 conference games, Heim batted .439 with 16 runs scored and 14 runs batted in. She had six doubles and a homer for a .659 slugging percentage and stole four bases.Â
Mathies, a first team choice in 2023 and 2024, hit .500 in conference play with 10 runs, 15 RBI, nine doubles, one triple and one homer and a .818 slugging percentage and a 1.358 OPS.
Minobe batted .350 with eight runs and four RBI in conference play and stole four bases.
Romero-Salas was 5-1 with a 0.78 earned run average in conference play with 25 strikeouts and just one walk in 36 innings. She earned first team honors last year when she was also the conference's pitcher of the year.
In 12 conference games, Lockridge hit .355 with nine runs and five RBI along with four stolen bases.
Cox batted .344 in 10 conference games with four RBI and seven stolen bases.
The Tigers shared the NCAC title with Denison before winning the conference tournament with a 3-0 record. DePauw opens NCAA Division III Championship play tomorrow with a 1:30 p.m. CDT game against Simpson.
