Greencastle, Ind. - Five members of the DePauw women's golf team have been selected to the all-North Coast Athletic Conference team with one taking the conference's top honor.
Becky Williams (Jr., Zionsville, Ind./University High School of Indiana) was named the NCAC Player of the Year and to the first team, while second team selections included
Ashley Long (Sr., Monticello, Ill./Monticello) and
Emma Pasawat (Fr., Bangkok, Thailand/Brighton College Bangkok). Earning third team honors were
Hanako Goetz (Sr., Windermere, Fla./Olympia) and
Arika Wickramasinha (Sr., Colombo, Sri Lanka/Lakes' College, Colombo).
Williams leads the Tigers with a 72.59 stroke average in 17 rounds headed into this week's
NCAA Division III Championships and earned the player of the year distinction for the second straight year after winning her second NCAC title. She won six of the eight tournaments in which she competed and her current stroke average is on target to break DePauw's single-season record of 74.28 by Larisa Luloff in 2018-19.
Long, a second team honoree each of the last three seasons, averaged 80.0 in 17 rounds with four top-10 finishes including a pair in the top five and a low round of 75. She earned a spot on the NCAC All-Tournament Team after finishing in a tie for fourth at the conference championships. Pasawat averaged 80.15 in 13 rounds in her first year of collegiate golf with a low round of 76. She finished in the top 10 three times. including a tie for ninth at the NCAC Championships.
Goetz competed in 14 rounds with an 85.14 stroke average with one top 10 finish and Wickramasinha averaged 83.59 in 17 rounds with two top 10 places. Each had low rounds of 78 this year.
