Crawfordsville, Ind. - DePauw moved its win streak to four and improved to 12-7 overall and 3-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 4-3 win over Wabash. The Little Giants dropped to 11-8 overall and 2-3 in conference play.
The Tigers won all three doubles matches to earn the doubles point. The second team of
Scott Anderson and Sela Roee were off the courts first with a 6-3 win over Tharakesh Ashokar and Cole Shifferly before the number-one duo of
Finley Buelte and
Will Cramer clinched the point with a 6-3 victory over Augusto Ghidini and Rafael Rin.
Jake Louiselle and
Diego Marquez wrapped up the sweep with a 6-4 victory over Ethan Koeneman and Murilo Guarniari
Buelte finished first in singles with a 6-4, 6-4 win over Shifferly at the first spot before Marquez gave DePauw a 3-0 lead after defeating Ghidini at third singles 6-4, 6-2.Â
Wabash earned its first point at fourth singles with Ashokar topping Cramer by a 6-1, 3-6, 6-3 score and then closed the gap to 3-2 after Rin was a 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 victor of
Scott Anderson at second singles.
Samuele Pia clinched the team win with a 6-3, 7-6 (8-6) win at the third spot. Vittorio Bona of Wabash finished the match with a 6-7 (6-8), 7-5, 1-0 (10-0) win over
Grayson Zylstra at sixth singles.
DePauw travels to Wittenberg on Friday, April 18, for a 1 p.m. match.
