DePauw in Fourth Place after First Day of NCAC Championships

Oberlin, Ohio - With one day remaining at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships, DePauw's men are in fourth place with 28 points. Wabash leads with 53 followed by Wittenberg with 41 and Denison with 32. 

In Friday's finals, Daniel Jansen was an eighth-place finisher in the long jump at 6.32 meters (20-9), while Two Tigers scored in the 5,000-meter run as Brennan Jensen was fourth in 15:09.34 and Max Morgan placed eighth in 15:32.99.

The Tigers' distance medley relay of Dominick Dell, Nick Bauman, Ian Porter and Matt Rowley was third in 10:24.93.

Three Tigers qualified for Saturday's 60-meter hurdles finals paced by Jacob Sandlin who was second in a program-record 8.18 seconds. Jansen was tied for fifth at 8.54 seconds and Casey Rustman was eighth in 8.63. 

Noah Wagner was the Tigers' lone finals qualifier in the 400-meter dash after he placed eighth in the prelims in 51.76. Colin O'Malley qualified for the 60-meter dash after finishing third in the prelims in 6.98 seconds and Ian Ross qualified in the 800 meters with the eighth-fastest time in 2:00.88.

O'Malley was DePauw's lone qualifier in the 200 meters after finishing with the third-fastest time of 22.33 seconds.

Saturday's competition begins with field events at 10 a.m.
