Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw and Carthage battled through a tight match and it was the Firebirds prevailing by a 4-3 score. The Tigers dropped to 2-5, while Carthage improved to 4-3.

Carthage took the doubles point with wins at second and third doubles. DePauw's Finley Buelte and Will Cramer topped Myles Krzewinski and Elios Briand by a 6-2 score for DePauw's lone win.

In singles play, Buelte defeated Krzewinski 6-3, 2-6, 7-5 at the top flight with Samuele Pia topping Cooper Ferruzzi at fourth singles 7-5, 6-4. Grayson Zylstra was a 7-5, 6-2 winner over Finn Morris at the sixth spot 7-5, 6-2. Two of Carthage's singles wins were three-set matches.

DePauw returns to action on Saturday, March 1, when it hosts 20th-ranked Kenyon in a Noon North Coast Athletic Conference match.
