Terre Haute, Ind. - Led by
Colin O'Malley's school-record in the 60-meter dash, DePauw totaled 30 points and finished in a tie for second with Millikin at Rose-Hulman's Friday Night Spikes #3 meet. WashU won with 37 points.
O'Malley's time of 6.96 seconds broke the previous record of 6.97 by
Grant Hunt just two weeks ago on the same track. O'Malley also won the 200 meters in 22.31, while
Ian Porter won the mile in 4:31.61.
Brennan Jensen brought home DePauw's only second-place finish as he ran the 3,000 meters in 8:49.52.
Placing third were
Noah Wagner (400 meters, 51.91),
Matt Rowley (800 meters, 1:58.75) and
Daniel Jansen (60-meter hurdles, 8.55).
Six Tigers turned in fourth-place finishes including
Ian Ross (800 meters, 1:59.09),
Casey Rustman (60-meter hurdles, 8.60),
Daniel Jansen (high jump, 1.85 meters/long jump, 6.24 meters),
Mark Ortiz (shot put, 13.98 meters) and
Kaleb Strong-Jones (60 meters, 7.08).
The Tigers travel to the Illinois Wesleyan Keck DIII Select meet on Saturday, Feb. 8, with a 10:45 a.m. CST start time.
