Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw scored on its first five possessions and shut out Wooster, 59-0, on Senior Day at Blackstock Stadium. The Tigers, ranked 13th in the latest coaches' poll and 15th by D3football.com, improved to 8-1 overall and 6-1 in the North Coast Athletic Conference, while the Fighting Scots finished their season at 5-5 overall and 4-4 in the NCAC.
The Tigers wasted little time as
Caden Whitehead scored on the second play from scrimmage with a 34-yard run.

Matthew Berry's 36-yard field goal with 5:09 left in the first.Â
DePauw's defense followed that up with a three-and-out and the Tigers needed just six plays to cover 63 yards with
Scott Ballentine completing an 11-yard scoring pass to
Palmer Samuels to push the lead to 17-0 with 22.9 seconds left in the first.
The Fighting Scots had their deepest penetration of the afternoon early in the second as they drove to the DePauw 19, but DePauw's defense held. DePauw responded as
Scott Ballentine connected with
Robby Ballentine for a 24-yard score to make it 24-0 with 3:46 left in the half.
Another three-and-out performance by the Tigers' defense and a blocked punt by
Jackson Cain gave DePauw the ball at the Wooster 46. Four plays later,
Scott Ballentine teamed with
Frankie Ricciardi for a 32-yard score to extend the lead to 31-0 with just under one minute left. After another defensive stop, DePauw got the ball back but
Buddy Gomez's 53-yard field goal was off the mark.
The Tigers forced a fumble on the opening kickoff of the second half and
Carson Johnson scored on the first play with a 10-yard run.
Later in the third
Anthony Garzolini tossed a 20-yard score to
Triston Foran to make it 45-0 with 9:15 remaining in the third.Â
On Wooster's next series, DePauw's
Danny McCoy picked off Luke Snowberger at the Wooster 40 and took it in for the score to extend the lead to 52-0 with 6:11 left in the third.Â
Richard McIntosh's 13-yard pick-six with 7:55 left in the game wrapped up the scoring.
Whitehead led the Tigers with 98 rushing yards in five attempts, while Johnson followed with 61 yards in six tries.
Scott Ballentine completed 10-of-17 passes for 150 yards and three scores with
Robby Ballentine catching five for 79 yards.
Manny Zelaya led Wooster with 26 rushing yards with Michael Boyle completing 13-of-23 passes for 119 yards. Cam Crago caught four for 69 yards and Broady Snyder had five grabs for 36 yards.
Joey Roland and
Owen Rossell led the defense with four tackles each.
Luke Nolan and Roland had 1.5 sacks each. Pratt,
Holt Heldebrand, McCoy,
Jeremiah Miller and McIntosh had one interception each.
Brock Sivon had eight tackles for Wooster.
DePauw outgained Wooster, 401-163, including 206-5 on the ground.
The Tigers return to action on Saturday, Nov. 15, with the Monon Bell Game against Wabash in Crawfordsville. Kickoff is set for just after 1 p.m.
