Granville, Ohio - DePauw had a 2-1 lead in its North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament quarterfinal match at Denison, but the Big Red rallied for a 3-2 (20-25, 25-16, 23-25, 25-22, 15-13) win over the Tigers. DePauw finished its season at 12-15, while the Big Red improved to 14-15 and advanced to the NCAC Tournament semifinal.
In the fourth set, the Tigers led 16-14 before the Big Red went on a 7-2 run to take a 21-18 lead. DePauw scored three of the next four and trailed, 22-21, but Denison closed by winning three of the last four points.
DePauw grabbed a 9-6 lead in the fifth but the Big Red evened the score at 9-9. The Tigers briefly regained the lead before the hosts scored three straight and never trailed the rest of the way.
Madeline Ozersky led DePauw with 15 kills with
Kendall Herrick totaling 20 assists.
Riley Kamer,
Grace Myers,
Addison Hooker and
Anna Leland each had two aces, while Myers had 24 digs and
Jen Proeh finished with 12 blocks.
Maeve Perry paced Denison with 17 kills with Alice Kempf totaling 27 assists and Kate Sicklick four aces. Sadie Habeeb finished with 23 digs, while Perry, Sicklick and Carolina Parkhurst each had three blocks.
The Big Red outhit DePauw, .225-.159 and led in kills, 69-46. The Tigers led in aces, 9-8 and in blocks, 17-7.
