Springfield, Ohio – DePauw women's soccer fell 4–0 on the road to Wittenberg in an NCAC matchup at Edwards-Maurer Stadium Wednesday night.
Macy Miller gave the Tigers' their first shot at scoring in 22nd minute, but Wittenberg's offense struck early and often in the first half, netting all four of their goals before halftime. Abby Borland opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, followed by tallies from Caroline Thomas, Ava Otey, and Olivia Gillum to give the Tigers of Wittenberg a commanding 4–0 lead heading into the break.
Ashleigh Rupprecht tried to gain momentum for DePauw with a bullet down the middle, but was saved by goalie. Shots were evenly divided between halves for both teams, with DePauw tallying six and Wittenberg recording 12.
Despite settling defensively in the second half, DePauw couldn't break through Wittenberg's back line. DePauw recorded six shots and six corner kicks in the match, while goalkeeper Riley Cholewa collected five saves across 90 minutes of action.
With the result, DePauw moves to 6–5–1 overall and 0–2 in NCAC play, while Wittenberg improves to 6–1–3 (2–0).
The Tigers return home this Saturday to host Kenyon for their Pink Out: Breast Cancer Awareness game at Reavis Stadium, starting at 2:30 p.m. to spread awareness, recognize inspiring survivors, and promote donating to the IUSCCC Breast Cancer Reseach Fund.
