Greencastle, Ind. - After dropping the opening set, DePauw rallied to win the next three for a 3-1 (26-28, 25-21, 25-19, 25-21) win over Mount St. Joseph. The Tigers improved to 9-8, while the Lions dropped to 6-10.
In an opening set that featured 16 ties and five lead changes, DePauw held an 18-13 lead before the Lions scored five straight to even the score. The Tigers had three set points, but the Lions won the final three points to take a 1-0 lead.
After winning the second and third sets, DePauw trailed 20-16 in the fourth but rattled off seven straight points and nine of the final 10 for the win.
Kaiden Harrington paced DePauw with 12 kills and
Belle Shelton added 10 with
Julia McWaters leading with 23 assists and four aces.
Kerry O'Connor totaled five blocks with
Jen Proeh and
Madeline Ozersky following with four apiece.
Grace Myers had 16 digs in the win, while
Addison Hooker added 14 and McWaters 13.
Aubrey Miranda led Mount St. Joseph with 15 kills and Ava Moore finished with 21 assists with Ginger Johnson chipping in 20 and a team-high two aces. Claudia Mueller and Avery Kerr finished with two blocks apiece and Lyndsey Stephenson totaled 27 digs.
DePauw outhit Mount St. Joseph, .191-.161 and held a 51-48 edge in kills. The Tigers also held a 9-6 advantage in aces and 10-3 in blocks.
The Tigers travel to Wooster on Saturday for an 11 a.m. North Coast Athletic Conference match.
