Lexington, Ky. - DePauw moved to 11-9 on the season after splitting a pair of non-conference matches. The Tigers blanked Manchester 3-0 (25-19, 25-15, 25-22) before Transylvania handed DePauw a 3-1 (25-20, 25-15, 23-25, 25-16) defeat.
In the Manchester match,
Madeline Ozersky paced the Tigers with eight kills and
Julia McWaters led with 17 assists. McWaters and
Riley Kamer each served three aces with
Grace Myers totaling 14 digs and
Jen Proeh totaling five blocks.
Avery Ball led Manchester with 13 kills and two aces with Morgan Howard leading the way with 16 assists. Tiffany Watterson had a team-high 10 digs, while Kaitlyn Smith, Maddi Smith and Lily Lichtenbarger had two blocks each.
The Tigers outhit the Spartans .252-.067, and led in kills, 35-33. DePauw also held the edge in aces, 8-4, and blocks, 10-4.
Ozersky led DePauw with nine kills against Transylvania with McWaters totaling 22 assists. Myers had team highs of two aces and 22 digs, while
Kerry O'Connor finished with six blocks.
Isabella Myers led Transylvania with 15 kills with Macy Lentz finishing with 44 assists. Kennedy Beatty had a team-high five aces while Julia Brown totaled 15 digs. Cecelia Roberts, Lilly Kaiser and Brown had three blocks each.
The Pioneers outhit DePauw, .231-.184 and led in kills, 61-41. Transylvania led in aces, 15-3, with the Tigers holding an 8-7 advantage in blocks.
DePauw returns to North Coast Athletic Conference action on Tuesday, Oct. 21, for a 7 p.m. match at Denison.
