Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's tennis team suffered its first loss since March, falling 7-2 to Grace College at home. The Tigers drop to 8-5 for the season, while the Lancers improve to 10-6.
 
Grace College jumped to a 2-1 lead over DePauw in doubles play. On court two, the Lancers' Jimena Ramirez and Alejandra Sandoval defeated Valerie Doherty and Kat Wilder 8-1. The Tigers would tie the match up at one apiece after Bella DeNardo and Katie King beat Grace's Kiersten Martin and Amy Adams 8-5 on court three. The Lancers would regain its lead after Geraldine Salinas and Lydia Ruegsegger defeated Ellen Gardner and Kassie Green 8-6 in a back-and-forth matchup on court one.
 
Grace College would begin to pull away in singles matches, going up 3-1, following Jimena Ramirez's 6-0, 6-0 win over Ellen Gardner on court one. Bella DeNardo would inject some life into the Tigers with a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Kiersten Martin on court six to bring DePauw back within one. However, the Lancers kept their cool and fought hard to keep the Tigers at bay, ultimately winning the last four matches despite two of them being determined by a tie-breaker. 
 
The Lancers' Alejandra Sandoval defeated Katie King 6-0, 6-3 on court four, followed by Grace's Geraldine Salinas beating Valerie Doherty 6-4, 6-1 on court three. On court five, Molly Runestad outlasted Kat Wilder, defeating her 6-1, 4-6, 10-8, and on court two, Lydia Ruegsegger beat Kassie Green 6-4, 3-6, 6-0.
 
The Tigers start conference play on Saturday, April 6, with a 9 a.m. match against Oberlin College.
