Katie Mathies (Jr., Shelbyville, Ind./Shelbyville) has been selected North Coast Athletic Conference Softball Player of the Week for her performances in DePauw's doubleheader sweeps over Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan.
In the four games, Mathies batted .667 (6-9) with six runs scored and eight RBI. All six of her hits were extra-base hits including four doubles and a pair of homers. In Sunday's twinbill against Ohio Wesleyan, Mathies was 3-for-4 with four runs and six RBI with two doubles and one home run.
For the season, Mathies is batting .415 with five homers and at team-high 30 RBI. She also leads the team with 14 doubles.
DePauw returns to action on Thursday, April 18, with a 3:30 p.m. doubleheader at Franklin.
