Tigers Extend Win Streak to Four with Win over Oles

Davenport, Fla. - DePauw extended its win streak to four and improved to 9-6 with a 5-2 win over St. Olaf. The Oles dropped to 9-8 with the loss.

St. Olaf grabbed a 1-0 lead in the top of the first as Evan Hammonds led off with a double and scored on Joey Glampe's two-out, two-bagger.

DePauw came right back in the bottom of the frame as Grady Johnson singled and moved to third on Danny Glimco's double. Both came home on Cameron Macon's two-out ground-rule double.

Max Bond walked in the DePauw second and advanced to second on Ty Sucher's base hit before scoring on Johnson's single to make it 3-1.

Louis Florida's solo homer in the sixth boosted the Tigers' lead to 4-1 and St. Olaf countered in the top of the seventh with Brendan Goldman's solo homer.

DePauw added an insurance run in the eighth as Drew Straub singled and Bond was hit by a pitch followed by Sucher's RBI double.

Sucher and Johnson each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Glampe had two of the Oles' seven.

Nate Tencza improved to 2-2, while Justin Benes collected his first save. Davie Scheil dropped to 0-1.

The Tigers wrap up play in Florida tomorrow with a 1 p.m. doubleheader against Colby.
