Orlando, Fla.- The DePauw women's tennis team kicked off its Spring Break matches with its fifth straight win after defeating Kalamazoo College 8-1 at the USTA National Campus. The Tigers improve to 6-4 for the season, while the Hornets drop to 5-5.
 
In doubles play, Ellen Gardner and Kassie Green defeated Kalamazoo's Juliana Pullen and Maddie Hurley 8-2 on court one to put the Tigers up 1-0 early. Valerie Doherty and Kat Wilder beat the Hornet's Ivy Walker and Olivia Wolfe 8-4 on court two. To complete the doubles sweep and earn their fifth doubles match win in a row, Katie King and Alex Preston battled Eleni Bougioukou and Molly Stevison on court three, defeating Kalamazoo 8-7 (7-4).
 
In singles play, Katie King on court four put the Tigers up 4-0 after beating the Hornet's Ivy Walker 6-2, 6-3. Ellen Gardner would secure the win for DePauw after defeating Juliana Pullen 6-3, 6-1 on court one. On court five, Kat Wilder extended the Tigers lead to 6-0, following a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Molly Stevison. 
 
The final three matches were tightly contested, with Bella DeNardo falling to Soussana Kimbouris 6-4, 6-4 on court six, for Kalamazoo's lone win of the afternoon. On court three, Valerie Doherty came from behind to beat Eleni Bougioukou 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. Kassie Green managed to hold off Maddie Hurley on court two, defeating the Hornet 5-7, 6-0, 10-8.
