Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's tennis team opened its spring season with a tough loss to North Central College, falling 8-1 at home.

DePauw fell behind 1-0 after Hudson Mosher and Wills Warren lost to North Central's Ramon Vilarroig and Matthew Sengphommachanh, 8-3 on court two. The Tigers' Samuele Pia and Teagen Crow would tally DePauw's lone win of the night after defeating the Cardinal's Rafael Lessa and Matt Crossland 8-6 on court three. North Central would regain the lead on court one when Wyatt Crowell and Guillermo Gonzalez beat Ryan McCook and Finley Buelte in a tightly contested 8-6 match.

Down 2-1 heading into singles play, the Cardinals managed to pull away and finish the night sweeping singles play. Despite the Tigers being down 7-1, Samuele Pia played an intense match against North Central's Matthew Sengphommachanh on court two. Pia eventually would fall to Sengphommachanh 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) after a hard-fought tiebreaker, earning the Cardinals its third straight win.
