DePauw Men Finish Sixth at the 2024 NCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships

Gambier, Ohio-  The DePauw men's indoor track and field team jumped up two spots from day one to finish sixth with 64 points at the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Wittenberg won with 130 points, followed by Wabash with 114.

DePauw recorded 17 top-ten finishes throughout the weekend, five of which were All-NCAC performances, and three finishes broke program bests. Daniel Jansen led the Tigers with the lone first-place finish and three top-five finishes. Jansen came into the weekend with a second-place finish in the heptathlon, breaking DePauw's point total record after tallying 4,521 points. While qualifying for the 60-meter hurdles finals, he not only finished with the top time, but broke his own record with a prelim time of 8.32. Jansen would later run the second leg of the third-place distance medley relay with Henry Streib, Bailey Scott, and Matt Rowley. On day two, he would finish fourth in the high jump and break his own 60 hurdles record with a time of 8.41 to take first.

Rowley and Scott also finished with multiple All-NCAC performances; the two finished second and third in the one-mile run. Though the 4x200 relay team performance by Connor Gaesser, Kaleb Strong-Jones, Grant Hunt, and Colin O'Malley didn't garner an all-conference honor, the four did break the program record with a time of 1:31.39. Previous record holders Jordan Booker, Luke Patty, Satchel Oskins, and Chase Wright have held the record of 1:31.59 since 2018, before today's record-breaking performance.
