Sue Anderson Selected Head Softball Coach

Greencastle, Ind. - Sue Anderson, a 2003 graduate of Anderson University and a member of its hall of fame, has been selected as DePauw's head softball coach. Anderson replaces Erica Hanrahan who resigned in August.

"We are excited for Sue to join our staff and lead this team," said Stevie Baker-Watson, DePauw's associate vice president for student wellness and Theodore Katula director of athletics and recreational sports.

"She lives the values that are important to our athletics department and this team, has a high softball IQ and a tremendous passion for the game."

Anderson served as head softball coach at Morristown High School (2005-08) and Eastern Hancock High School (2013-2016) where she was named both the Shelby County and Hancock County Coach of the Year. She directed the 2013 Eastern Hancock team to the semi-state semifinals (final 8 in class 2A) and to the semi-state final (final 4 in class 2A) in 2016. The 2016 squad finished 20-4.

She also has worked as a private instructor with an emphasis on teaching fundamentals in all areas as well as sports performance.

Anderson earned a Bachelor of Arts in Athletic Training and Physical Education from Anderson University and was inducted into the Ravens' Athletic Hall of Fame in 2021. She earned all-Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference honors as a shortstop all four years and still holds the program's career stolen base record with 68.
