Webster's Golden Goal Sends DePauw to NCAC Tourney Title Game

Delaware, Ohio - DePauw's Ethan Webster gained possession of a loose ball near the top of the box and delivered the game-winning goal in the 97th minute giving the fourth-seeded Tigers a 2-1 overtime victory over top-seed Ohio Wesleyan in the North Coast Athletic Conference semifinal.

The Tigers improved to 10-4-5 and advance to Sunday's 1 p.m. tournament championship match at Denison. Sunday's title game marks DePauw's first appearance in the title clash since 2012. The Battling Bishops finished the regular season at 11-4-3.

Ohio Wesleyan jumped out to a 1-0 lead after Christopher Guerra scored just 2:11 into the contest and the Battling Bishops took that advantage into the second half.

The Tigers' Harrison Engel evened the count in the 54th minute on a double assist from AJ Hockstok and Alek Habecker.

DePauw had a couple of opportunities in the final 20 seconds of regulation, but both were blocked by Ohio Wesleyan defenders.

The game-winner came when Ohio Wesleyan wasn't able to clear the ball out of the box and Webster gained control and sent the left-footed shot into the far left side of the goal.

DePauw outshot OWU, 19-13, including 9-3 in shots on goal. The Tigers also held a 7-4 edge in corners.

The Tigers' Sam Ortner recorded two saves, while Ohio Wesleyan's Sam Whitman stopped seven DePauw shots.
