Delaware, Ohio- The DePauw field hockey team fell to top-seed Ohio Wesleyan 4-0 in the North Coast Athletic Conference tournament semifinal game. The Tigers wrap its season with an overall record of 11-7, while the Battling Bishops improved to 16-4 and play host to Denison University on Saturday, November 9.

The two teams had a quiet first quarter to kick off the semifinal matchup; however, five minutes into the second quarter, Ohio Wesleyan found its footing, putting up three shots and capitalizing on its one corner penalty attempt of the quarter.

With a one-goal lead at the half, the Battling Bishops managed to stretch its lead to three in a span of six minutes, stifling DePauw's chances to claw its way back into the game. With three minutes left in regulation, Ohio Wesleyan put the game away with a redirected shot from the top of the circle, beating the Tigers 4-0.Â

The Tigers and Battling Bishops finished the night with the same amount of penalty corner attempts (3). Despite being tied in penalty corners, Ohio Wesleyan outshot DePauw 9-3 across the evening, with eight of their shots on goal.

Bella Lauber split time in the cage for the Tigers, with Oaks tallying one save and Lauber recording three saves. Meg McCarthy finished the night with one save in the cage for the Battling Bishops.
