Tigers Secure Program's First NCAC Championship Title, Monnett Earns DePauw’s First NCAC Individual Title

DePauw Women's Cross Country 2024 NCAC Women's XC Champions

Terre Haute, Ind.: Totaling just 26 points, and paced by the 2024 North Coast Athletic Conference women's cross country champion, Lily Monnett, the DePauw women's cross country team won the program's first NCAC Cross Country Championship. The Tigers beat the second-place team, Wittenberg, by a margin of 23 points and third-place Ohio Wesleyan by 45 points.

Monnett and Sophie Porter battled throughout the course for the top three spots with Ohio Wesleyan's Zoe Ward. And with the two seniors pacing the team, after three seasons finishing in second place, DePauw worked together to take it all.

Ten Tigers earned all-NCAC honors, with Monnett, Porter, and Brynn Urban taking first-team all-conference honors. Monnett covered the 6,000-meter course in 22:05.85, followed by fellow senior Porter, who took second with a time of 22:12.25, and sixth place Urban (22.41.07).

Kendall Mann, Grace Flores, Amzie Maienbrook, Grace Thomas, and Emma Jacobs earned second-team honors. Mann finished eighth with a time of 23:06.44, Flores took ninth place (23.:11.61), while Maienbrook (23:21.91), Thomas (23:25.62), and Jacobs (23:26.66) finished 11th, 12th, and 13th respectively.
Morgan Tharp (20th, 23.53.08) and Rowan Hering (21st, 23.54.80) rounded out the all-conference accolades with third-team recognitions. For complete team results, click here.

In an afternoon of firsts, DePauw's Monnett was also named NCAC Runner of the Year, and DePauw's head coach, Kori Stoffregen, and volunteer assistant coach Mackenzie Anders were named NCAC Coaching Staff of the Year.

The Tigers return to action on Saturday, November 16, competing in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional in Shelbyville, Ind.
