Greencastle, Ind. - Four DePauw men's soccer players have been named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference (NCAC) men's soccer squad for their performance this past season.
Senior defender Alec McCarty and sophomore forward Braden Murphey brought home second-team honors for the 2024 season. McCarty finished his senior season with two assists and played a crucial role in leading the Tigers' backline, allowing just 18 goals off of 165 shots. On the other end, Murphey led the team in scoring, putting in eight goals and two game-winners and tallying one assist for the year.
Rounding out the Tigers' All-NCAC honorees are sophomore forward Matthew Fogo and first-year defender Harrison Engel, who earned second-team All-NCAC honors. Fogo finished the season second on the team in goals scored with five, recorded two game-winners, and tallied one assist. As a defender, Engel completed the season tied for third on the team in goals scored with four and worked alongside McCarty in stifling opponents' offense in the Tigers' defensive third.
DePauw holds a 10-4-6 record overall and a 3-2-3 record in NCAC competition, earning them the fourth seed in the NCAC men's soccer tournament. The Tigers acquired the automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship after tying Denison 1-1 in regulation and beating the Big Red 4-1 in penalty kicks. DePauw travels to UW-Eau Claire, Wis., to take on Hope College on Friday, November 15, at 3:30 p.m. CST for the tournament's first round.
