Whittier, Calif. - DePauw wrapped up its West Coast trip with a split of its Saturday matches as it topped Chapman 3-1 (25-23, 25-27, 28-26, 25-20) before falling to Whittier 3-0 (25-15, 25-18, 25-21). DePauw is now 13-8 on the season.
DePauw outhit Chapman .209-.120 and held a 52-41 advantage in kills. Each team had 12 aces with DePauw holding a 6-4 edge in blocks.Â
Olivia Karwin and
Ashley Haas each had 10 kills for the Tigers, while
Kendall Herrick totaled 22 assists.
Riley Kamer led DePauw with four aces with
Grace Myers finishing with 15 digs and Haas with four blocks.
Brooke Leslie paced Chapman with 11 kills and Sammy Chambers totaled 19 assists. Leslie had a team-high four aces, while Lia Ono led with 10 digs. Hannah Callahan and Olviia Harrison paced the Panthers with 2.0 blocks apiece.
In the Whittier match, the host Poets outhit DePauw, .346-.121 with a 47-26 lead in kills and 8-2 in aces.
Haas and
Kaiden Harrington led DePauw with six kills each and Karwin totaled 12 assists.
Madeline Ozersky paced the squad with two aces, while Myers had 17 digs and
Kerry O'Connorr totaled 2.0 blocks.
Riley DeGroot led Whittier with 13 kills and Morgan Lin finished with 20 assists. Sofia Azaueta and Lin each finished with three aces, while DeGroot led with 13 digs. Mia D'Amato and Kylie Ibbotson finished with 4.0 blocks apiece.
The Tigers return to action when they host Wittenberg on Wednesday, Oct. 23, at 7 p.m.
