Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw extended its win streak to six and remained unbeaten in the North Coast Athletic Conference following a 75-60 win over visiting Oberlin. The Tigers improved to 12-4 overall and 5-0 in the NCAC, while Oberlin dropped to 11-4 overall and 2-2 in the conference.
In a first quarter that included five ties and four lead changes, DePauw claimed a 17-16 lead. The lead changed hands in the opening minutes of the second period before DePauw embarked on a 19-2 stretch over the final eight minutes that included the final 13 points to take a 38-23 lead at the intermission. During the run, DePauw limited the Yeowomen to just 1-of-10 shooting from the field.
The Tigers kept the margin in double digits throughout the third and expanded it to as many as 20 points at 56-36. DePauw led by as 22 in the final stanza.
Ava Hassel led DePauw with 12 points and
Olivia Hart added 10.
Ainsley Boras paced the Tigers with 10 rebounds, while Hassel and
Lily Huntzinger each had three assists and Hassel and
Diana Burgher had three steals apiece.
Camille Zinaich and Alyson Jefferson each scored 18 for Oberlin with Jefferson and Krystal Montas each finishing with five rebounds. Jefferson totaled five assists and Montas had three steals.
DePauw shot 47.7 percent from the field to Oberlin's 42.2 percent and the Tigers held a 42-25 rebounding edge.Â
The Tigers travel to Denison on Wednesday, Jan. 17, for a 6 p.m. game.Â
