Greencastle, Ind. - Danny Sheehan (St. Louis, Mo./Chaminade), a 2023 DePauw graduate and member of the Tigers' football and baseball squads is one of 42 fall sport athletes on all NCAA levels to earn the NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship.

Sheehan earned third team all-North Coast Athletic Conference honors in 2022 as a specialist after averaging 23.1 yards per kickoff return with a long of 37 yards. He was a career .287 hitter for the baseball team including .309 in 2023.

A double major in kinesiology and religious studies, Sheehan graduated summa cum laude and was both a Phi Beta Kappa and Chi Alpha Sigma inductee. He also was a College Sports Communicators Academic All-District® honoree in both football and baseball and was recognized on the DePauw Dean's List, the Tiger Pride Honor Roll and the NCAC Academic Honor Roll. Sheehan earned the football program's Chester C. Elson Tiger of the Year Award and was the team's nominee for the National Football Foundation's William V. Campbell Award.

Sheehan was involved in DePauw's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee all four years and served as co-president during the 2022-23 year and as the D3 Week Coordinator as a junior. He also participated in Tiger Catholic all four years while serving as an Admissions Ambassador as a senior.

The NCAA awards up to 126 postgraduate scholarships annually and they are awarded to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically and who are at least in their final year of intercollegiate athletics competition. The one-time non-renewable scholarships of $10,000 are awarded three times a year corresponding to each sport season (fall, winter and spring).  Each sports season there are 21 scholarships available for men and 21 scholarships available for women for use in an accredited graduate program.
