Cleveland, Ohio - Host Case Western Reserve scored 11 runs in the bottom of the first and held on for an 18-7 win over DePauw in the Tigers' season finale. DePauw finished the season at 12-26, while the Spartans improved to 27-13.
The hosts took advantage of six bases on balls, one hit batter and a DePauw error to score 11 runs on just four hits in the opening frame with Nick Harms wrapping up the scoring with a three-run homer.Â
Cameron Allen's single in the fourth scored
Cameron Macon and put DePauw on the board before the Spartans added two more in the fourth on a pair of sacrifice flies.
Macon's three-run homer in the fifth closed the gap to 13-4. The Tigers added three in the sixth as
Joey Webster came home on an error following
Danny Sheehan's base hit before Macon added an RBI triple and
Danny Glimco a run-scoring single.
Case scored three more in the sixth and two in the seventh to end the game with the 10-run rule.
Macon had three of DePauw's 10 hits, while Sheehan and Allen each added two. Owen Levinson led Case Western with three of its 13 hits with Jack Anders, Zack Carinci and Nick Talarico each adding two.
Holden Biffle dropped to 1-2, while Evan Faxon improved to 5-3.
