Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw posted its first shutout of the 2023 season and, in the process, advanced to the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament championship round with a 4-0 win over Denison. DePauw improved to 22-20, while the Big Red's season concluded with an 18-17 record. The Tigers will face Hiram in a 12:30 p.m. game.

Abby Pyburn and
Katie Mathies each singled before
Lily Jennings grounded out allowing Bernhard to score.Â
Jennings led of the fourth with a bunt single and moved to second on
Madi Lockridge's sacrifice bunt.
Alyssa Anderson's single moved Jennings to third before
Drew Bratcher plated Jennings with a ground out to first. After Anderson stole second,
Macey Cox followed with a single that scored Anderson.
Mathies wrapped up the scoring in the fifth as Mathies hit a solo homer.
Mathies and Cox each had two of DePauw's nine hits, while Maggie Ballentine had two of Denison's six hits.
Megan Asher improved to 12-9 with the complete game win that included a career-high equaling nine strikeouts and no walks. Brooke Surbaugh dropped to 7-10.
