Box Score Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw women's tennis team lost to the No. 32-ranked Kenyon College Owls 8-1 in its second-to-last North Coast Athletic Conference matchup. The Tigers move to 4-14 and 0-5 in NCAC play, while the Owls improve to 16-4 and 6-0 in conference play.

Kenyon set the tone quickly with DePauw, earning two doubles wins to put the Owls up 2-1 heading into singles play. The Owl's Eleni Lazaridou and Allaire Berl defeated
Sonal Matta and
Kiley Shaw 8-1 on court one, and on court two, Shadia Amado Aguad and Lalasa Nagireddy beat
Kat Wilder and
Ellen Gardner 8-7 (7-4). The Tigers' lone victory for the afternoon was on court three, where
Valerie Doherty and
Franny Werner defeated Kenyon's Natalie Connelly and Erika Pontillo 8-6.

Unfortunately for DePauw, Kenyon quickly extended its match lead over the Tigers in singles play. Kenyon's Amado Aguad beat Wilder 6-0, 6-2 on court three; on court one, Gardner fell to Lazaridou 6-1, 6-1. Doherty lost to Nagireddy 6-2, 6-1 on court four, followed by Kenyon's Irina Bshentseva defeating Werner 6-0, 6-2.Â

In the final two matches of the afternoon, Matta fell to Berl 6-2, 6-3 on court two, and on court five, the Owl's Pontillo beat Shaw 7-5, 7-5, to complete the Tigers singles match sweep.

DePauw wraps up its regular season play on Tuesday, April 18. The Tigers take on the Battling Bishops at Blackstock Courts at 2 p.m.
