Tigers Finish Tied for Third in the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships

Greencastle, Ind.- The DePauw men's indoor track and field team tied for third and totaled 99 points with Wooster after a strong second-day performance at the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships. Wabash won with 157 points, followed by Denison with 132 points.
 
DePauw recorded 15 top-ten finishes on the final day of the NCAC Championships, with four All-NCAC performances in four different events.
 
The Tigers' two first-place finishes were from Garrett Elkins and Grant Hunt. Elkins jumped a height of 1.98m (6-06), and Hunt ran the 200-meter run in 22.29. Joining them on the podium was Griffin O'Neill, who took third in the 800-meter run with a time of 1:57.22, and Ford Baker, who took third in the 3k run with a time of 8:34.24.
 
Finishing in the top five was DePauw's 4x400 relay, made up of Carson Watson, O'Neill, Colin O'Malley, and Hunt finished fourth (3:29.47). Daniel Jansen finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.63, Ayo Laleye took fifth with a time of 7.07, and Bailey Scott finished fifth in the mile (4:28.23).
 
Hunt also earned a sixth place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.13, O'Malley in the 200-meter run with a time of 22.89 for sixth, and Sam Prendergast and Jansen finished eighth in the weight throw (14.02 (46-0)) and pole vault (3.91m (12-10.00)) respectively.
 
DePauw's remaining top-ten finishes came from the men's 4x200 relay with Watson, Ryan Khosla, Dylan Conner, and Christian Troupe, who finished eighth with a time of 1:36.74, Henry Streib, who ran a 4:31.38 mile for eighth and Jack Rutstein who finished 10th in the mile with a time of 4:33.59.
