Springfield, Ohio- In its final meet before the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the DePauw women's indoor track and field team had 15 top-ten finishes at the Wittenberg Invitational.
Seelye Stoffregen led the Tigers with three top-ten finishes. Stoffregen finished third in the 400-meter dash (1:00.73), took eighth in the 200-meter dash (27.24), and ninth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 10.37.
Fellow senior
Jaida Smith tacked on two more top-ten finishes with a third-place finish in long jump (5.20m) and a ninth-place finish in the 60-meter dash with a time of 8.24. In pole vault,
Emma Stemen tied for ninth with a height of 3.14m; in shot put,
Bree Mahoney-Sutherland finished sixth with a distance of 11.65m.
The Tigers tallied four top-ten finishers in the 3000-meter run, with
Meredith Sierpina finishing in fourth in 10:31.61, followed by
Sophie Porter in fifth place with a time of 10:34.67. In ninth and tenth place were
Lily Monnett (10:48.46) and
Brynn Urban (10:54.22).
In the 800-meter run, DePauw's
Annalise Grammel finished third with a time of 2:16.80, and
Morgan Tharp came in at 2:23.52 for ninth place. The Tigers completed the Invitational, with
Kendall Mann and
Ashley Baldwin finishing in third (19:15.95) and fifth (20:02.94), respectively.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, February 24 through Saturday, February 25, in Greencastle, Ind., for the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
