Springfield, Ohio- In its final meet before the NCAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, the DePauw men's indoor track and field team had nine top-ten finishes at the Wittenberg Invitational.
Ayo Laleye led DePauw with two top-ten finishes after earning seventh in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.08 and tenth in long jump with a distance of 6.30m.
In high jump, seniors
Garrett Elkins and
Evan Manges finished sixth and ninth, respectively. Elkins jumped 1.86m while Manges tied for ninth with a height of 1.81m. Across the field in long jump,
Carson Watson earned fourth with a distance of 6.68m, and in triple jump,
Joshy Kaluwasha jumped 11.56 for tenth.
Bennett DeCoursey tacked on a top-five finish after throwing 14.96m in shot put for fourth place.
Around the track,
Ford Baker finished seventh with a time of 8:34.23 in the 3000-meter run, while first-year
Grant Hunt finished seventh in the 200-meter dash with a time of 22.50.
The Tigers return to action on Friday, February 24, through Saturday, February 25, in Greencastle, Ind., for the North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track and Field Championships.
