<strong>Lexington, Ky.</strong> - DePauw closed a 10-point deficit to three in the closing minute but East Texas Baptist held on for a 76-72 win in the third-place game of Transylvania's Don Lane Classic. DePauw dropped to 7-6, while ETBU improved to 4-7.<br />

East Texas Baptist led by as many as eight in the first half before DePauw gained its first lead late in the opening half. ETBU took a 37-36 advantage into halftime.<br />

ETBU never trailed in the second half and pushed the margin to as many as 10 at 68-58 with 5:22 left. The Tigers were within three points four times in the final 40 seconds, but ETBU  hit four free throws down the stretch to seal the win.<br />

Reph Stevenson led DePauw with a double-double of 22 points and 12 rebounds, while
Brady Kunka added 15 and
Grant Niego 14. Niego dished out four assists.<br />

Darry Moore led East Texas Baptist with 24 points, while Kurt Labeaud added 15 and Jayden Williams 10. Labeaud handed out eight assists in the win.<br />

DePauw shot 48.0 percent from the floor to ETBU's 46.9 percent and the Tigers outscored ETBU from the line, 21-9, but DePauw committed 12 turnovers to East Texas Baptist's four. DePauw held a 35-30 edge on the boards.<br />

The Tigers return to NCAC action on Wednesday, Jan. 3, with a 7 p.m. game at Ohio Wesleyan.<br />
