DePauw Earns Newcomer of the Year and Four All-NCAC Selections

Greencastle, Ind.- Four DePauw men's soccer team members were selected for the 2023 All-North Coast Athletic Conference selections, with first-year Matthew Fogo bringing home the Newcomer of the Year award.
 
In his rookie season, first-year forward Matthew Fogo earned an All-NCAC third-team selection and Newcomer of the Year recognition. Fogo played in 18 matches and started in eight. From the moment he took to the pitch, he put pressure on his opponents' backline. He wrapped the season with five goals, four of which were scored in NCAC matches, which helped advance the Tigers to its first NCAC tournament appearance since 2017.
 
Tye Williams and Alec McCarty were named to the All-NCAC second team. Williams played in 18 matches and started in 12 as a forward. He finished the 2023 season tied for third in goals with four, two of which were game-winners, and Williams led the Tigers in assists with five.
 
Junior defender McCarty earned an All-NCAC second-team selection for the second consecutive season. He was a crucial part of the Tigers' defense, playing and starting in all 18 matches. Along with his ability to close down an opponent's attack, McCarty recorded one goal and one assist for the season. 
 
Senior midfielder Quinn Flaspohler rounds out the Tigers' all-conference selections after earning an All-NCAC third-team selection. Flaspohler played in 15 matches, started in 14, and tallied one goal and one assist for the year. He finished his career at DePauw with six goals, nine assists, and 21 total points. 
 
The Tigers finished its season with an overall record of 7-7-4 and a fourth-place finish in the NCAC men's soccer tournament.
