Tigers Fall to Fightin Engineers

Terre Haute, Ind. - DePauw shot just 30.8 percent from the floor and fell to 0-2 on the season after a 73-55 loss at Rose-Hulman. The Fightin' Engineers improved to 1-0.

Rose-Hulman used a 13-2 run in the first half to extend a four-point lead to 15 at 30-15 with 3:18 left in the first half. After DePauw closed the gap to 11, the hosts finished the half on a 4-0 run to grab a 37-22 halftime advantage.

Early in the second half, DePauw closed the deficit to 11 at 40-29, but the Engineers put together a 9-2 stretch to make it 49-31 with 11:59 remaining. The Tigers got no closer than 14 the rest of the way.

Sam Jacobs led DePauw with 11 points, while Caleb Washington followed with 10. Grant Niego paced the Tigers with seven rebounds and three assists. 

Bradley Harden paced Rose-Hulman with 20 points followed by Daniel Savovic with 12, Rocco Richie with 11 and Kobe Stoudemire with 10. Simon Blair grabbed a team0high seven rebounds and Harden dished out four assists.

In addition to shooting just 20-of-65 from the field, the Tigers connected on just 3-of-27 from 3-point range. Rose-Hulman hit 42.6 percent from the floor and knocked in 8-of-25 from beyond the arc. Each team totaled 42 rebounds.

The Tigers travel to Division I Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, Nov. 14. The game will be an exhibition game for DePauw and a regular season contest for Norse.
