Greencastle, Ind. - DePauw blanked Kenyon 3-0 (25-13, 25-22, 25-15) to earn the outirght North Coast Athletic Conference championship and then completed the Saturday sweep with a 3-1 (25-12, 25-17, 23-25, 25-22) win over Trine. DePauw moved to 15-10 overall and finished NCAC play at 7-0. The Tigers host the NCAC Tournament semifinals and championship matches, Nov. 10-11.
In the win over Kenyon, the Tigers outhit the Owls, .307-.128, and held a 42-24 edge in kills.
Katie Gansle had 17 kills for DePauw and hit .517 for the match, while
Olivia Karwin totaled 16 assists. Olivia Gumz led Kenyon with six kills and Maggie Wolf had 13 assists.
Grace Myers had three of DePauw's nine service aces , while Wolf paced the Owls with eight. Myers also led DePauw with 12 digs with
Ashley Haas and
Kaiden Harrington each totaling two blocks. Lauren Blakemore paced Kenyon with nine digs, while Gumz and Rachel Ferrara had two blocks apiece.
In the Trine match, DePauw outhit the Thunder, .228-.086, and led in kills, 51-42. Gansle had 14 kills, while Karwin added 13.
Kendall Herrick led with 16 assists and Karwin totaled 15. Olivia Jolliffe and Francesca Queary each had 10 kills for Trine with Anna Zellers and Lindsey Call finishing with 14 assists each.
The Tigers led in service aces, 9-4, as Myers had four for the Tigers. Myers also led with 22 digs and Karwin 14 for a triple-double. Haas led the way with five blocks. Rachel Campbell had 24 digs for the Thunder with Queary and Madison Dominick finishing with three blocks.
DePauw travels to Millikin on Saturday, Nov. 4, where they'll face Hendrix at 11 a.m. CDT and the host Big Blue at 1:15 p.m. CDT.
