Oberlin, Ohio - DePauw dropped the first and third sets of its North Coast Athletic Conference match at Oberlin, but the Tigers rallied for wins in the fourth and fifth for a 3-2 (15-25, 25-18, 20-25, 25-14, 15-9) win over the Yeowomen. The Tigers improved to 12-10 overall and 5-0 in the NCAC, while Oberlin dropped to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
After the teams split the opening two sets, Oberlin grabbed a 7-4 lead in the fifth before DePauw scored six straight to take the lead for good. The Tigers' lead was still three at 12-9, but DePauw scored the final three for the win.
DePauw outhit Oberlin, .250-.203 with the Yeowomen leading in kills, 54-53.
Katie Gansle's 16 kills were a match high, while
Olivia Karwin led with 22 assists.
Kaiden Harrington hit .409 with 11 kills for the Tigers. Cami Sweet paced Oberlin with 12 kills and Taylor Gwynne had 36 assists.
Each team had seven service aces with Karwin pacing the Tigers with three. Lauren Sands, Gwynne and Jillian Kendsen had two apiece for Oberlin.
Grace Myers led the defensive effort with 26 digs with
Lauren Ridgway finishing with four blocks. Iris Archibald led the Yeowomen with 14 digs, while Gwynne, Natalie Dufour and Sweet each had two blocks.
DePauw hosts Ohio Wesleyan on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 7 p.m. with the number-one seed for November's NCAC Tournament on the line as each squad is 5-0 in conference competition.
