Terre Haute, Ind. - The DePauw men's track and field team finished with seven top-ten finishes to take ninth at the Sycamore Open, hosted by Indiana State.
Earning the Tigers' first points of the afternoon was Callaway Bird, who finished the 800-meter run with a time of 1:59.35. In the 1,500-meter run, Michael Ocasek took seventh (4:07.92), followed by teammate Matt Rowley, who took eighth with a time of 4:10.01. Thomas Brelage rounded out the top-ten finishes in mid-distance and distance events with a sixth-place finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:06.76.
In the field events, Garrett Elkins earned third in high jump with a height of 1.90m. In long jump, Carson Watson finished sixth after jumping 6.43m, while Bennett DeCoursey took sixth in discus throw with a distance of 49.93m.
The Tigers will be in Oberlin, Ohio, from Thursday, May 5 to Friday, May 6, to compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
